Hiring. It’s one of the most important tasks a small business must complete, yet too often it’s an afterthought – something you do quickly when you lose an employee, or suddenly have more work than you can handle. The hiring process, however, can directly affect your business’ success; it also has multiple legal implications due to anti-discrimination laws. In this hour-long workshop, you’ll learn why having a structured hiring and interview process is so important; how to write job postings, handle applicants and design interviews to ensure you’re only getting the best employees; and how to avoid some of the legal pitfalls that can surround the interview process. You’ll also learn about the importance of checking references, and how a five minute phone call can save you significant time, money, and effort. Presented by Benjamin Krisher PHR, owner of Castle Resume Services.
